Life insurer AIA Australia has appointed five new adviser distribution team members in response to the impending new Life Insurance Framework.

AIA chief retail insurance officer, Pina Sciarrone, said AIA recognises that advisers play a crucial role in providing access to quality, affordable, and independent insurance advice.

"We also recognise that when it comes to a long-term approach to the reforms, we believe a partnership approach between insurers and advisers is paramount," she said.

"The new appointments reflect our commitment to assist advisers to grow their revenue streams and retain clients in this environment."

Bruno Santos has been appointed as senior client development manager (CDM) in Queensland. Santos was most recently CDM in New South Wales for AIA and prior to that had roles as business development manager (BDM) and financial planner at AMP.

Josh Lawrence and Simon Bennett have been appointed as CDMs in NSW. Lawrence has five years' experience in business development and operational roles for TAL, while Bennett joins from BT where he was a business development officer in the independent financial adviser distribution team.

In Western Australia, Reon Botha has been appointed as senior CDM, Johnny Ng as CDM, and Deborah Clatyon-Ford as state underwriting and operations manager covering both WA and South Australia.
