AXA’s aggressive push to ramp up its distribution capabilities has been given further fuel with the signing of former AMP distribution chief Neil Swindells.
Swindells has been named chief executive of AXA’s distribution business, overseeing both aligned and non-aligned distribution channels. AXA has been in the midst of re-structuring its distribution network since the beginning of the year, including the launch of a new financial planning dealer group, Altus, to join the AXA Financial Planning and Charter groups. He will also be in charge of developing new channels for the group.
Swindells signed up with AMP at the beginning of last year, replacing Andrew Mohl after an exhaustive six month search. Mohl had moved to take up the top job at AMP Asset Management, which he did for about a year before taking on the top job at AMP Financial Services vacated by Ray Greenshields late last year.
Swindells came to AMP from Sealcorp where he was general manager for four years, following his time as the head of Sealcorp research subsidiary Assirt.
