Suncorp picks up former St George exec
Suncorp has appointed a new chief financial officer to its wealth management business.
Peter Loosmore will step into the role of CFO on February 16. He was most recently CFO for wealth management and retail banking at St George/Asgard, a role he had held from 2004 to November last year.
Loosmore is replacing Kym Hooper, who is leaving Suncorp, and will report to Suncorp Wealth Management group executive Geoff Summerhayes.
Summerhayes said one of the tasks he faces is continuing to build a team with the skills to succeed in the current “challenging and unprecedented environment for financial services”.
Loosmore has held senior roles in the financial services industry for the past 20 years, the statement from Suncorp said. Prior to his role at St George, Peter was an executive director and CFO of Rothschild Asset Management in Australia. He has also held senior roles with NRMA Insurance and Deloitte Management Consulting.
