TO help educate employers on choice of fund, the Federal Government has begun the mammoth task of dishing out a print version of its official choice guide to around 900,000 businesses.

The 16-page Choice of Fund Employer Guide can also be downloaded from the Internet.

Along with the guide, businesses will receive the standard choice form, which needs to be filled out by any switching employee and their employer. Existing employees must receive the two-page form by July 28, and any new employee must receive one within 28 days of starting work.

Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Revenue Mal Brough said the first five pages of the guide contained all the information most employers will need to meet their obligations.

The rest of the booklet provides examples of standard choice forms, a list of potential penalties for not meeting the choice obligations, definitions and other sample documents.

The Government has also launched a choice of fund phone hotline (13 28 64).

The guide can be downloaded from: www.assistant.treasurer.gov.au or www.superchoice.gov.au.
