peerTransfer expands into Australian market

Specialist global payments solutions provider to the education sector, peerTransfer, has this week announced the expansion of its services to Australia.
Announcing the move in Boston this week, the company said it had recognised that Australia represented the third largest market for international students studying abroad - a segment that pays an estimated $4 billion per year in tuition and fees.
The announcement said peerTransfer has partnered with Australian institutions such as the Australian Catholic University, the University of Southern Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
It said that in addition to entering the Australian market, peerTransfer had partnered with UniLink, the leading e-commerce and cashiering solutions provider in the Australian higher education market.
Commenting on the move, peerTransfer chief executive Iker Marcaide said Australia represented a very natural progression for the company in terms of expansion, due to the number of international students as well as the high calibre of the education system.
