MLC has entered into a partnership with Australian medical software provider, Zedmed to launch Practice Management Essentials.
The insurer describes Practice Management Essentials as "a suite of three online learning modules for members of The Australian Association of Practice Managers.
The new partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two companies involving Zedmed being engaged in the retrieval of patient medical information through its medical record exchange service.
The two companies said the launch of Practice Management Essentials highlights the shared interest and the importance that MLC and Zedmed place on providing education and growth for practice managers throughout Australia.
They claimed the introduction of the online learning area on the AAPM website would allow members to access a range of professional development and education programs that they could complete at their own pace and in the convenience of their office or home.
On satisfactory completion, members will accrue continuing professional development points.
The insurance module powered by MLC is the third module of Practice Management Essentials developed by Zedmed.
The module illustrates the benefits of aligning processes between insurers and the medical industry so that life insurance applications and claim assessments are managed with greater timeliness, efficiency and accuracy to better service patients.
