Legg Mason's small companies hire
Legg Mason Australian Equities has announced the appointment of Julian Mulcahy, formally of Citigroup, as its new portfolio manager and research analyst for Australian small companies.
Mulcahy will focus his efforts on listed Australian companies that fall outside the S&P/ASX 100.
He will jointly manage the Australian small companies investment strategy with Shane Livingstone, who has over 27 years with the firm and has managed the Australian small companies portfolio since its inception in July 1996.
“Julian’s extensive experience will promote stronger conviction levels in our stock positions and enable us to build on the long-term performance of our Australian small companies’ investment strategy,” said head of Legg Mason Australian equities Reece Birtles.
Mulcahy brings with him 21 years of investment experience, 14 of which have been dedicated to Australian small companies.
