IRESS launches tablet app

IRESS has announced the launch of XPLANtouch, a tablet app that allows financial advisers and clients to access personal and financial data and more easily track their progress towards agreed goals.
According to IRESS executive product manager - wealth management Aaron Knowles, a recent study by market research firm mobiThinking found that 40 per cent of access on financial services websites in western countries is done via a tablet or mobile device.
"We recognise that if consumers expect to access and manage their financial life online, and online is increasingly mobile, then mobile needs to be part of an adviser's service offering," he said.
"XPLANtouch means advisers can cost-effectively provide significant value-add to their clients."
The app - which is supported on all tablets - allows clients to access portfolio data and adviser-branded reports on their financial position, IRESS stated.
Knowles added that the app could be easily configured to match an adviser's corporate branding and, for an additional charge, could be packaged as an adviser-branded app in iTunes, Google Play and Microsoft Marketplace.
"We are now developing an app that will help advisers collate data, reports and planning tools into an agenda for client meetings, as well as core productivity tools for advisers when operating mobile," he said.
The app is due for release in March 2013.
