The AMP Financial Planning managing director and member of the FPA board will take on the role of head of advice and services, which will give him responsi-bility for all of AMP’s advice led channels as well as services for external financial planners.
Helmich joined Australia’s largest dealer group in 1995. AMP Financial Services managing director Andrew Mohl says that since Helmich signed on, AMP Finan-cial Planning’s new business has increased 40 per cent and operational expenses have been cut in half.
Helmich took up a seat on the Financial Planning Association’s board at the end of last year to replace Colin Scully as the representative for large dealer group princi-pals.
