Guardian offers financial planners free SOAs

Guardian Financial Planning has announced it will start leveraging an in-house paraplanning team to provide free statements of advice (SOAs) for risk insurance to advisers to help them focus on building their business and servicing clients.
At first, the offer will only apply to SOAs on personal risk insurance, but Guardian plans to roll it out to risk in super and eventually comprehensive investment advice that includes a risk component, according to Guardian executive manager Simon Harris.
Guardian currently has eight paraplanners in the in-house team, but may look at expanding that once demand increases, Harris said.
The service is aimed at helping advisers better prepare for a post-FOFA (Future of Financial Advice) environment, by taking away some of the administrative burden, costs and complexities involved in preparing SOAs, he said.
The service has been piloted since May with a group of 40 advisers, with very positive feedback, he said.
The service matches advisers with a dedicated paraplanner, providing advisers with a personalised service offering, Guardian stated.
