FPA announces pro bono advice service for disaster victims

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has launched a pro bono service to provide financial advice to victims of recent natural disasters around Australia.
FPA chief executive Mark Rantall said many families have had their homes destroyed and lives impacted by floods in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, as well as bushfires in Tasmania, Victoria and NSW.
"The FPA community has come together to set up a pro bono service as a way to connect people affected by these crises with a local financial planner who can provide financial advice and help," Rantall said.
"The service aims to provide professional financial planning assistance to Australians who are financially disadvantaged and who would otherwise not be able to afford financial advice," he said.
Financial planners who want to be included in the pro bono service can sign up at the FPA website.
Flood and fire victims seeking advice can call 1300 626 393 or fill out this form at the FPA website.
