CBA combines adviser services offerings

The Commonwealth Bank has combined its adviser-focused Core Equity Services and Colonial Geared Investments offerings under the single banner of CommSec Adviser Services.
The service will remain separate from the consumer-focused CommSec online trading platform, which CBA said was to ensure that relationships between advisers and their clients are preserved.
The consolidation will provide advisers with a single point of contact for service and support, with a combined website and logins for trading, margin lending, cash, debt optimisation, portfolio administration and investment advice products, CBA stated.
"By speaking to our customers about the potential change, we discovered there was a significant appetite for an alignment of Core Equity Services and Colonial Geared Investments under the one brand, with some customers reporting that it would drive them to do more business with us," said Stephen Karpin, executive general manager, equities and margin lending.
