Calls for super fund industry to address lifestyle issues, not just money

Lifestyle challenges in retirement has a large impact on retirees and needs to be addressed by financial planners and the superannuation industry, according to the Baby Boomers Lifechange campaign.
Baby Boomers Lifechange, said that by simply planning for a financial solution for a retirement was only addressing half of a retiree's challenge.
Lifestyle issues like health, relationships, attitude, purpose in life, community involvement, and spirituality were important factors if people are going to enjoy more than 20 years in some form of retirement, Baby Boomers Lifechange said.
The company said that super funds and financial planners could give clients better advice and would establish a better relationship if they addressed these issues.
"The strategy is clearly a win-win… [it] creates a competitive product advantage by offering a service that most of its industry ignores."
