AMP pools teams together
New Zealand's largest fund manager, AMP Henderson Global Investors, has revamped its investment operations structure and personnel which has resulted in its local equity manager Stephen Walker leaving the company.
The new structure has integrated the previously separate fixed interest, equity and investment strategy teams into a single investment operations group. All members of the investment operations team now report through to the recently appointed chief investment officer Chris Wozniak.
"The new structure is consistent with the worldwide Henderson Global Investors operational model, and is designed to enhance our New Zealand investment operations and strengthen our relationship with our investors," Wozniak says.
"By removing the traditional boundaries between asset classes and investment strategy, we have been able to form a single consolidated investment team with a clear focus on providing excellent returns to investors," he Wozniak says.
All New Zealand assets will continue to be managed in New Zealand.
Grant Hassell is now senior fixed interest portfolio manager and will continue to manage New Zealand bonds and fixed interest along with Peter Scobie.
Craig Brown has been made senior equity portfolio manager, and will take a leading role in equity management. Natvar Vallabh, Nigel Croke and Stan Wilson, who are the other members of the New Zealand equities area, have also taken on additional responsibilities.
