AIA Australia has launched a suite of enhancements to its Priority Protection product, including a WeCare service that will offer life support and counselling services to policyholders at any time.

AIA chief distribution and marketing officer Damian Mu (pictured) said clients would be able to access grief support, counselling, tax and home assistance, access to lawyers and other services.

"The service is coupled with a suite of referral services covering areas such as … assistance with arranging a funeral and helping out with sourcing providers of emergency accommodation in the event of a disaster," Mu said.

The insurer also launched an advanced crisis reinstatement feature and premium discounts for qualifying clients.

Under a new crisis reinstatement feature, clients may be entitled to receive a partial payment for a heart attack or cancer if they have previously received a prior full payment for one of these conditions.

Mu said the enhancements had been developed in response to adviser demands for time saving measures and additional benefits for clients.

AIA also announced advisers would soon be able to electronically submit new insurance applications and provide declarations without the need for clients' signatures.
