Illuminating views from the non-executive suite

Having just read and digested the HUB24 annual report, issued on the back of a rather buoyant full-year result from the platform provider, Outsider is offering a big shout-out to Ian “Foxy Knoxy” Knox who gained a brief but pertinent mention in the company’s Australian Securities Exchange documentation.

As was variously foreshadowed some months ago, Knoxy has forsaken the burdens of executive management for the somewhat different, but no less onerous, burdens of non-executive directorship and chairmanship.

Knox is not only the non-executive chairman of HUB24’s Paragem planning group, which he founded, but also a non-executive director of Lonsec Holdings Ltd of which the chief executive officer is his old mate and Paragem cohort, Charlie Haynes.

As the HUB24 annual report aptly phrased it: “ ... the founders of Paragem have decided to move away from ongoing operational involvement in the business” while noting that “Ian Knox is remaining as our newly-appointed chairman of Paragem and we welcome his contribution and insights to further grow the business and navigate the changing landscape”.

Outsider feels sure that the boards of Paragem and Lonsec will not find Knoxy shy in sharing his insights.
