Zurich Financial Services Australia has added two major global fund managers, a small cap expert and a leader in property securities to its suite of specialist investment managers.

The world’s largest specialist property securities manager, Cohen & Steers, is to manage the newly-established Zurich Investments Global Property Securities Fund, while the Lazard Global Small Companies team is to preside over the Zurich Investments Global Small Companies Fund.

The new relationships will allow the New York-based managers to enter the Australian platform market with ease, while Zurich has the benefit of fee sharing.

Cohen & Steers specialises in global real estate investment trusts, with more than 22 years of experience managing these types of securities.

The Lazard team aims to identify small companies that have hidden value and unrealised potential using intensive fundamental research.
