AMP Capital Head of Fundamental Equities, Ella Brown will leave the company in July, with the company set to create a new Global Head of Equities role.

The company announced this week that Brown would be retiring next month after a 26-year career in investment management including four years with AMP Capital and would be relocating back to London.

Brown joined AMP Capital in 2011 as Head of Fundamental Equities and been responsible for the management of the Australian Fundamental Equities, New Zealand Equities, Asian Equities, Global Listed Infrastructure and Global Listed

Real Estate capabilities in addition to broad responsibilities across all of AMP Capital's Global Equities and Fixed Income division.

Confirming Brown's departure, AMP Capital Chief Investment Officer and Head of Global Equities and Fixed Income Mark Beardow said she had made a significant contribution to AMP Capital during her time at the company.

"Under Ella's leadership, our fundamental equity products have delivered excellent investment performance during the last three years and the growth in assets under management over the period has been noteworthy," he said. "Ella leaves the firm with many competitive and contemporary equity products on which to grow the business."

"To further build upon the great work Ella has done and to take the equities business forward, we will move all of AMP Capital's equities business under a new Global Head of Equities. This role will further drive our leading equities capabilities for global clients."

Beardow said the company had begun an internal and external recruitment search for the new role.
