Legg Mason makes key sales appointment
Legg Mason has head-hunted former JP Morgan staffer Colin Taylor to become its director of sales following significant growth in the Australian business.
Announcing the appointment this week, the company said Taylor would promote Legg Mason's products and affiliate fund managers under the fund manager's hybrid distribution structure that encompasses both institutional and retail segments of the market.
He joins Legg Mason after three years at JP Morgan as vice president of institutional business. Prior to this, Taylor spent 11 years at UBS based in London, where his most recent position was executive director, head of prime brokerage.
Legg Mason Australia head of sales Beau Titchkosky said Taylor's appointment underpinned longer-term growth plans and reflected the success of the business in developing tailored solutions under the company's hybrid distribution model.
