Superannuation consultant SuperConcepts is to create an Innovation Lab dedicated to the research and development of SMSF software.

The lab will work on solutions which use artificial intelligence, conversational user interfaces and robotic processes to automate low value tasks and free up administrators’ time.

It will be staffed with software and accounting specialists to work on the solutions as the company looks to software solutions as a key driver of its future growth and a way to respond to customer needs.

A range of prototypes will be produced which will then be ‘tested, refined and rapidly deployed’, the firm said.

SuperConcepts chief technology officer, Brad Ackermann, said: “The technical team will bring cognitive and development skills to really focus on the ability to interpret and understand written text and verbal commands from customers in order to make automated decisions from that information.

“We see this as critical to improving the accuracy of data, keeping it up to date and being less error prone for fund administrators.”
