AMP Capital has expanded its real estate team, with Kylie O’Conner joining as chief operating officer and Merran Edwards assuming the newly-created role of head of international strategy.

Currently the fund manager for the AMP Capital Diversified Property Fund, O’Conner would now be responsible for AMP Capital real estate’s group-wide functions of finance, strategy, research, governance, risk and compliance and sustainability.

Edwards would continue to leverage the strength of AMP Capital’s real estate capabilities globally in her new role, given she was instrumental in the firm’s investments into US-based real estate and her experience in exploring opportunities in key markets.

Current managing director, office and industrial, Luke Briscoe, would assume a broader role with accountability for office and mixed-use development in line with the firm’s integrated management model.

AMP Capital head of real estate, Carmel Hourigan, said both women demonstrated unwavering focus and dedication to creating value for clients.

“I’m confident these changes support our continual focus on delivering outstanding investment experiences and our aspiration to maximise opportunities for our clients,” she said. “The changes align to our ambitious international and domestic growth strategy and also demonstrate the strong talent pipeline and succession planning of our people.”
