Emerging markets earn stripes with Ord Minnett
Ord Minnett has launched the latest in a series of structured investment protected equity securities products, a fund that will give investors access to key emerging markets, including Brazil, Russia, Central Europe, China, Korea and Taiwan.
The Stripes Emerging Markets Accelerator is the third fund in the series, joining the Stripes/Asia Accelerator fund and the Stripes/Global Pinnacles.
Ord Minnett Asset Management managing director Walter Lewin said the latest product had been developed in conjunction with JPMorgan to meet needs expressed by private client investors.
Lewin said the fund “provides investors with simple access to some of the world’s most important and high growth prospect emerging equity markets”.
He said it offered geographic diversification and had no direct currency risk, being denominated in Australian dollars.
“This is a good example of how we can provide simple access to what are desirable but difficult markets to access, with the added benefit of 90 per cent principal protection and enhanced upside potential,” he said.
The fund opens today and closes on June 28.
The company expects to arrange and distribute further structured investments and managed funds over the coming quarter.
