The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has announced it will roll out specialist education and accreditation for life risk advisers as part of its ‘Life Risk’ program.

FPA chief executive officer Jo-Anne Bloch said the initiative will fill an enormous hole that was left when the Life Underwriters program ended in 1995.

“We now have a specialist education program directed by leading experts in life risk combined with the professional standing of the FPA and all the qualifying requirements that membership entails,” she said.

“Members who provide quality advice in specialist areas will now achieve recognition and accreditation for the valuable role they play in meeting consumer needs.”

The corporate education arm of Deakin University, DeakinPrime, has been selected to provide educational support services for the program.

Bloch said all financial planners should make use of this opportunity to enhance their skills and claim the professional accreditation.
