Crafter joins SSgA
Lochiel Crafter has been appointed head of investments for Asia Pacific at State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management arm of State Street Corporation. The newly appointed role will allow Crafter to oversee the Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore based investment teams.
Based in Sydney, Crafter will be responsible for ensuring co-ordination across asset classes on common issues of investment processes, research, trading and developing client focused solutions. He will also manage local product engineering teams and work closely with sales and relationship management.
Crafter joins SSgA from the Australian Reward Investment Alliance (ARIA), where he was the chief executive officer.
He previously spent seven years at SSgA, most recently as the Singapore based regional chief investment officer for Asia Pacific.
State Street Corporation provides financial services to institutional investors and at 30 June, 2010, had $19 trillion in assets under custody and administration and $1.8 trillion in assets under management.
