Zurich Financial Services has bolstered its life and investments team with the appointments of James Holt and Amy Smith.

Joining the strategic accounts and research team as investment specialist is Holt, who spent the last four years at BlackRock in a similar position.

He will be responsible for providing support and investment commentary to financial advisers and investors of Zurich's suite of managed funds.

Smith has been appointed implementation manager, strategic accounts and research, working closely with Zurich's key dealer group partners on the implementation of joint strategic initiatives, including market development and adviser education.

She spent several years in various dealership and distribution roles at Commonwealth Bank.

The additions of Smith and Holt bring the strategic accounts and research team to nine.

"Given the structural change that has occurred and continues to occur for our large institutional partners with the significant consolidation that is taking place in the industry, it is important that we match our structure to meet their needs," Zurich head of strategic accounts and research, investments Tim Meggitt said.

Smith and Holt join Zurich following the appointments of David Ghilks (New South Wales) and Jason Milosevski (Victoria) as the latest business development managers to join the national sale team.
