Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) as appointed Amanda Chong as investment manager, focusing on credit, to strengthen their Australian fixed income team.

Chong had more than 20 years’ experience with a background in investment research and lending across risk, funds management, debt capital markets, commercial banking and structured finance.

She had spent 12 years with Susquehanna International Group in senior research roles having previously held research and analyst positions with St George Bank, USB Group and Maple-Brown Abbott.

She would be based in Sydney and would join a global fixed income team that comprised of around 180 investment professionals that managed $243 billion.

Adam McCabe, head of fixed income Asia and Australia for ASI, said the Australian market had undergone significant structural change with respect to the management of fixed income assets.

“The changing environment means we need to continually adjust our skill-set to deliver fixed income solutions that meet our clients’ needs,” McCabe said.

“The ASI fixed income business possesses a strong track record of generating alpha across rising and falling markets.”

“Amanda’s appointment further underlines our commitment to maintaining our focus on investment excellence and developing new innovative solutions.”
