Tip of the week: Get your key to knowledge
If youhave a web site, demand that your web designer give you the access code. Armed with an access code, you can look at your web site statistics (all the information about people looking through it).
While on the telephone to a client, my web designer, Jeff, asked the client if he ever looked at his web site statistics. While speaking with him, Jeff took a look and told him he had around 50 unique visitors a day.
Essentially, this is like having 50 potential new customers call you every day.
Do you look at your web site statistics? You can get powerful information such as what keywords people use to find your site on a search engine, where people came to your site from, what country visitors are from, how long people spend on your site...and the list goes on.
Most web hosting companies will have a statistic server as a service they provide. All you need is the web address and password to access it.
Tip 1:Ask your web designer to give you personal access to your web statistics.
Tip 2:Never underestimate the power of e-mail to pull people to your web site and therefore your business.
Tip 3:Activity equals success. Try to work with other web sites and online newsletter publishers to generate more visitors to your web site and subscriptions to your newsletter.
