Two senior executives have been appointed to lead BetaShares’ distribution and client service efforts across four Australian states.
The fund manager announced the appointment of John Bezich as state manager for Western Australia, along with the promotion of Blair Modica to the role of state manager for Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania.
Bezich made the move from Netwealth, where he had been a senior distribution manager for over three years.
Prior to that, he had been a regional manager at Westpac financial planning and spent five years at AMP.
Meanwhile, Modica had been with BetaShares for nearly six years in distribution roles since joining as an associate director for the adviser business in July 2017.
Announcing the appointments, Peter Harper, BetaShares’ head of distribution and capital markets, emphasised both appointments were indicative of the quality of BetaShares’ adviser services team.
“We’re proud to host one of the largest client services teams dedicated to assisting financial advisers in Australia,” he said.
“The appointment of John and promotion for Blair will ensure our well-rounded team is able to continue meeting the needs of financial advisers and maintain the highest level of client service.”
According to Harper, Bezich and Modica would serve as dedicated resources for financial advisers in their respective home states, thus leveraging their experience and understanding of the benefits of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to provide valuable support to clients.
He added: “As well as expanding our team, we are also investing in the services available to financial advisers, including a growing range of ETF-based model portfolios, separately managed accounts and the creation of a new practice development offering.”
The service, announced in early April, aimed to support financial advisers and planners in enhancing their businesses through a range of new tools and resources.
Damon Riscalla, former national manager for adviser services at BetaShares, had been appointed to the role of national head of practice development to lead these services.
