Queensland super stalwart retires

Queensland industry funds stalwart, Bob Hendricks has announced his retirement.

Hendricks, a former Electrical Trades Union official, was the chairman of Energy Super and announced his retirement after serving 21 years on the board of the fund and it's predecessor entities.

He is a former Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) Trustee of the Year.

Hendricks guided the formation of Energy Super through the merger of industry super funds ESI Super and SPEC Super in April 2011 with fund having since grown to more than 48,000 members, predominantly in the energy sector, and more than $6 billion in funds under management.

Peter Duffy, who has almost four decades of administration experience in the Queensland electricity supply industry, will replace Mr Henricks as a member representative director on the Energy Super board.
