Where are this year’s pre-Budget submissions?
Organisations within the financial services industry have until 1 February to make pre-Budget submissions ahead of the intended April Federal Budget but, thus far, not a single submission has been shown as filed with the Federal Treasury.
The call for pre-Budget submissions was made by the Assistant Minister for Treasury and Finance, Zed Seselja, but with less than three weeks to go not a single submission has registered by the Treasury as received from within the financial services industry or any other organisation.
This compares with the almost four-month period allowed for submissions last year with the consultation period opening in mid-September and closing on 31 January.
The Government announced in early December its decision to pull forward the Federal Budget to April in the expectation of moving to a Federal Election in May.
