Allianz Australia is appointing its current chief technology officer, Richard Feledy to the new position of managing director which he will assume on 1 January 2018.

Allianz Australia chairman, John Curtis, said the Allianz SE Board of Management Allianz Australia Limited’s Board of Directors had selected Feledy after a lengthy search.

“[Feledy] brings a broad and deep knowledge of insurance to the role, serving on the leadership team of Allianz for seven years as our chief technical officer,” Curtis said.

“Richard’s experience across all aspects of insurance and leadership qualities make him a great fit for the position.”

Feledy would replace Niran Peiris who had been promoted to the Allianz SE Board of Management, effective next year. Prior to the commencement of the managing director role in January, Feledy would take on the newly-created interim position of deputy managing director under Peiris.

The prominent focus for Feledy for the rest of the year would be the enhancement of Allianz’s digital agenda, as well as the development of stronger customer-focused practices.
