AMP Capital invests in Swedish heating portfolio
AMP Capital’s infrastructure debt team has reached a financial close on US$163 million mezzanine debt investment in a portfolio of energy assets owned by a district heating business providing heating solutions across Sweden, Solor Bioenergi.
According to AMP Capital, the loan facility would be secured against a portfolio of 43 operational district heating assets located around Sweden.
It also confirmed it had worked closely with both Solor Bioenergi and its financial adviser SEB to structure and help close the transaction.
AMP Capital infrastructure debt partner and European head, Emma Haight-Cheng, said: “Solor Bioenergi is an established business with a highly experienced management team and a quality portfolio of infrastructure assets”.
“This transaction delivers investors in our infrastructure debt strategy another strong core infrastructure investment in Europe,” she said.
AMP Capital, which hires 12 investment professionals located in London, New York and Sydney, said it had been investing in the subordinated debt of infrastructure assets since 1998 and focused on defensive and non-cyclical assets.
