Outsider doffs his hat to financial planning's men in lycra — the chaps who are participating in this year's Future 2 Wheel Classic — this time in the always challenging summer temperatures of Western Australia.

Outsider's old mate Peter "the Bobbinator" Bobbin has once again thrown his leg over his 12-speed to participate in the 930 kilometre fundraising ride which will see he and 18 others cycling from Perth to Margaret River and return via by Bridgetown and Mandurah in time for the opening of the Financial Planning Association Professionals Congress starting on Wednesday 23 November.

Outsider considered joining Bobbin and Co on their latest adventure, but decided that he does not look his best in lycra and should he have actually reached Margaret River it is likely he would have stayed to enjoy the excellent vintages available in that region.

Outsider also notes that the cyclists will be welcomed across the finishing line by Australian Olympic cyclist, Anna Meares — a woman familiar with the pain of training and competing at elite level, but possibly less familiar with the pain of viewing ageing, saddle-sore financial types clad in lycra.

Of course these chaps are cycling in an exceedingly worthy cause and Outsider urges everyone to support them. He will personally be backing the Bobbinator.
