There are foxes and then there are bunnies who think they are foxes such as witless millennial, Daniel Burgoyne, from the UK who likened himself to Jordan Belfort, aka the ‘Wolf of Wallstreet’ but without the swagger, money or ‘success’.
Burgoyne managed to swindle £80,000 from clients and friends by making them believe he could make them rich by trading in diamonds, wine, and carbon credits. This is despite his only expertise being as a trainee butcher.
Burgoyne liked to modestly brag about his life on social media posting photos of his lavish life filled with cars, cigars, champagne, Rolexes, and cash before being caught. Outsider can’t help but chuckle that he will be in jail for two years basically for being stupid.
Not reaching Belfort’s ‘lofty’ status Burgoyne has instead been labelled the ‘Fox of Folkestone’ as he never quite made it to London from his quiet UK seaside town.
Outsider must be getting old because he remembers when scammers started out as legitimate business people before failing mightily only to bugger off to Spain to avoid the Tax Office, the cops, and disgruntled investors.
