Watermark Funds Management has sought to bolster its global capabilities with the appointment of former Platinum Asset Management staffer, Simon Felton.
Watermark said Felton’s appointment represented a response to recent growth and that he would be working across all of Watermark’s funds, bringing a specialisation in capital goods, transport and infrastructure.
Prior to his 12 years at Platinum, Felton was a lawyer with Blake Dawson Waldron specialising in mergers and acquisitions.
Watermark said the appointment brought the investment team to seven people.
The fund manager announced that it had also appointed a new business development manager, Rani Singh, in response to growing demand from financial advisers and self-directed investors looking for alternative investment strategies.
It said Singh would play a key role in supporting this growing adviser network and in increasing Watermark’s profile with retail investors. Singh has held previous roles at Ellerston Capital and Macquarie.
