Former Department of Foreign Affairs secretary, Peter Varghese has been appointed to the AMP Capital Holdings Limited board.
His appointment to the AMP Capital Holdings board follows on from his appointment as an independent director to the AMP Limited board on 1 October 2016.
Varghese has more than 38 years’ experience working in the public sector, which included senior positions in foreign affairs, trade policy and intelligence.
Commenting on the appointment, AMP Capital Holdings board chairman, Vanessa Wallace said Varghese’s deep knowledge and broad set of skills would be a valuable addition to the AMP Capital Holdings board as the business continues to expand internationally.
She said his experience in Japan and China was particularly relevant as the company enhanced its strategic partnerships with MUTB and China Life and established a greater presence in Asia.
