Movements in the final quarter encompassed new CEOs, sales appointments and industry associations hires.

October
Apt Wealth enacts succession with CEO appointment
In October, advice firm Apt Wealth Partners appointed Andrew Dunbar as chief executive, taking over from James McGregor who then stepped into the executive chair role to focus on the firm’s M&A plans.
Lonsec completes leadership team with sales head hire
Later that month, Anna Schofield left Challenger to join Lonsec Research and Ratings as its head of sales. The firm said her appointment was a “pivotal moment for Lonsec”, marking the completion of its leadership team as a part of Lonsec’s push to deepen adviser relationships and expand its presence in the market.
November
AMP doubles down on platform growth with senior North hire
November saw AMP appoint Kristine Goodwin (nee Brooks) as director for platform growth and wealth distribution. The newly created role is intended to introduce a dedicated person to the firm who can focus on accelerating growth of AMP’s North business.
Previously the chief country officer and executive director Australia for Milford Asset Management, Goodwin will step into her role at AMP from 21 January.
Insignia appoints advice leader for super offering
Meanwhile, Insignia Financial welcomed a former Ignition Advice head of advice and advice, Craig Weber, as head of education and advice on its Master Trust business to focus on delivering education, advice and communication to members of MLC Super following the relaunch of the MLC brand in October.
SIAA appoints CEO to replace Fox
In the final days of November, the Stockbrokers and Investment Advisers Association (SIAA) appointed Maria Lykouras as chief executive following Judith Fox’s July announcement that she would be stepping down after six years in the CEO role.
Lykouras was formerly the CEO of JBWere, becoming the first woman to hold the lead role at the firm, but announced in November 2024 that she would be leaving as JBWere prepared for a restructure with its Private Wealth division.
December
Koda Capital partner exits after three years
Kicking off the first day of December, Koda Capital announced the departure of Cassandra Hinze, a partner at the firm. She had joined Koda less than two years prior, in February 2023, after spending almost a decade at AMP. A spokesperson for the firm said Hinze left Koda “to pursue opportunities outside the firm.”
It is understood her duties were set to be taken over by investment officer Norman Zhang who will assume leadership of the investment strategy group.
Allianz Retire+ expands distribution team with adviser-focused hires
Rounding out the year, Allianz Retire+ appointed Lauren Matthews and William Weightman as part of a strategy to expand its presence in the wealth management space.
Matthews has taken up the role of senior retirement income specialist for Victoria and Tasmania, while Weightman joined the firm as a business manager supporting the chief distribution and marketing officer.
