TAL Limited has added two new members to its Board of Directors as the company continues to expand its specialist field of life insurance.
As the former head of life for Munich Reinsurance Group (Munich Re), newly-appointed director Roger Garrett is well known in the life insurance industry. Managing Director of TY Japan Consulting Tatsuya Yasukawa brings his many years of banking investment experience to the new role.
“TAL Limited has grown significantly in recent years to be the largest specialist life insurance company and, backed by the financial strength of The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Japan, has a strong future,” said TAL Chairman Rob Thomas.
Garrett previously worked for New Zealand Insurance (NZI) Life and NZI Bank in New Zealand before moving to Australia as Head of Life for Munich Reinsurance Group.
Before establishing his consultancy in March 2003, Yasukawa worked with Mizuho Bank, Union Bank of Switzerland, and Matsushita Investment and Development, in both Sydney and the Gold Coast.
