Non-institutionally owned dealer group Synchron has increased its number of advisers in Western Australia from 14 to 21 in the three months since appointing a WA state manager.
The appointment of former Mortgage Choice WA state manager Bernie Fernandes was announced on 16 August. Synchron director Don Trapnell said that in addition to the seven new advisers currently being processed, he expected another nine to join before the end of the year.
"Bernie is quietly confident that he will be able to meet our goal to grow to 32 practices by the end of the year, and we are putting our resources behind him," Trapnell said.
Melbourne-based members of the Synchron management team have also been spending three days per fortnight in WA supporting Fernandes, Trapnell added.
Fernandes said his immediate goal was to make the 32-practice target by March 2013, but he was hoping to achieve it by December this year, and in the longer term was aiming to increase the group's presence to over 50 WA practices.
