Another superannuation fund is preparing to launch an online intra-fund advice service to encourage members to ‘self-start’ their own advice process.
AvSuper has partnered with software provider Decimal to offer the service, which will be available from September.
AvSuper is a not-for-profit, public offer super fund with its genesis in servicing the aviation industry. AvSuper chief executive Michelle Griffiths said the service would allow members to “self-start their financial planning experience online, and then seek validation or more qualified advice from a licensed planner”.
Griffiths said AvSuper was “impressed” with the compliance aspect of Decimal’s system, which she said allows the fund “complete access to all member and adviser activity”.
Decimal has also partnered with superannuation administration company Pillar to offer single-issue advice services to Pillar’s industry fund clients. The group said that would allow fund members to “take action with one click or seek validation via a telephone-based financial adviser”.
Decimal managing director Jan Kolbusz said he believed his group offered the “right technology” to enable “cost-effective, efficient and compliant” financial advice services.
