The expansion of Australia’s sixth largest bank, Suncorp-Metway, into WA will be accompanied by an increase in its financial planner component.
A spokesperson for the Brisbane-based Suncorp-Metway told Money Management it would be “recruiting five or six financial planners during the next 12 months”.
“We will need these planners to facilitate the opening of an initial seven new branches in WA, financial advice being integral to our branch value proposition.”
Yesterday the bank announced it would open 14 new retail-banking branches in WA over the next two years.
The spokesperson added that Suncorp would “shortly be rolling out a unique new proposition to the many people involved in mining in WA”.
