The SMSF Professionals’ Association of Australia (SPAA) has confirmed its national conference in Brisbane will go ahead as planned in five weeks time, despite concerns over the floods that have affected the area.
In a statement released to SPAA members, chief executive officer Andrea Slattery said by travelling to Brisbane, the association and its delegates would support the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, hotels and surrounding businesses.
“We understand that our best intentions are subject to nature playing along and we will not in any way endanger delegates, so we will continue to communicate with you all as we receive information from management at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre,” Slattery stated.
The conference is scheduled for 23 February, 2011.
