The Small Independent Superannuation Funds Association has renamed itself the Self-managed Independent Superannuation Funds Association in a move it claims better reflects its objectives.
The name change has been confirmed by the organisation's chairman, Michael Lorimer, who said it better reflects "the new direction that SISFA is pursuing, including direct outreach to trustees and connecting with more advice providers".
At the same time, the organisation announced the appointment of the chief executive and founder of independent APRA-licensed superannuation trustee, CCSL, Nicholas Brookes, as a non-executive director.
It said Brookes was also a non-executive director of Linear Asset Management.
