Former New Zealand Prime Minister, Sir John Key has been appointed as the new chairman of ANZ New Zealand.
The big banking group announced to the Australian Securities Exchange today that Keys would succeed John Judge who will be retiring from the board in January, next year, after having served since late 2008 and having been chairman since June 2012.
Key became a member of the ANZ New Zealand board today and will become its chair in January, next year.
Commenting on the changes, ANZ Group chair, David Gonski paid tribute to Judge’s period as chair of the New Zealand business and welcomed Key who he said would add great value to the governance of ANZ.
