Australian activist investment firm, Sandon Capital Investments, has announced the appointment of Peter Velez as its new non-executive director, while Paul Jensen has departed from the board.
Velez is a corporate lawyer specialising in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and funds management, with extensive experience in advising on activist corporate activity, Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) compliance and corporate governance.
He has been a practicing lawyer since 1989, having worked at Freehill Hollingdale and Page, and Sydney boutique corporate firm, Watson Mangioni between 1995 and 2016, and was involved in the development of externally-managed listed investment companies (LICs) and a number of initial public offerings (IPOs).
Jensen, who resigned as the independent non-executive director, first joined the Sandon Capital board prior to the company’s IPO in December 2013.
