RSM Bird Cameron (RSM) will expand its Queensland presence by merging with Brisbane-based MHM Accountants, adding 30 staff to RSM numbers.
As part of the merger, RSM national head of business solutions Andrew Graham will transfer to Brisbane to head up the push into Queensland.
The merger and transfer are the result of expanding client operations in Brisbane, according to the mid-tier accounting group, and are part of its growth plan aimed at building a national network of RSM practices.
As well as the 30 staff joining RSM from MHM, two of MHM's partners, Frank Manning and Peter Hickson, and one principal, Tracy Herlihy, will also join RSM, taking its national staff numbers to 1000, with 86 partners and 33 principals across 28 offices.
RSM has also appointed a new partner in its Melbourne office — Brad Hutchesson from WHK Crowe Horwath — who will specialise in providing business and tax advice to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and family businesses.
RSM national chair Kim Hutchinson said the group was looking for further potential partnerships, and the new people joining the group would bring long-term client relationships on which the RSM business would build.
