One of the Federal politicians most influential in shaping financial planning policy, Queensland’s Bernie Ripoll, has declared he will not be contesting his seat at the next Federal election.
Ripoll announced his decision on his Facebook account and via Twitter today.
Ripoll said he had decided to announce his decision at this time to allow the Labor Party and his local branch members the best possible opportunity to find a replacement as the candidate for his Federal seat of Oxley.
Ripoll chaired the Parliamentary committee which gave rise to the Ripoll Inquiry which represented a starting point for the Future of Financial Advice (FoFA) changes.
