The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) mFund Settlement Service has passed a milestone with the total number of funds available through service reaching 161.
The ASX said Legg Mason affilliate, RARE Infrastructure, had admitted two new infrastructure funds to the mFund service.
The announcement said the service, which started in late 2014, now had 48 investment managers and 18 access points across a range of ASX brokers and their distribution customers.
Commenting on the development, ASX head of customer and business development, Ian Irvine, said inclusion of RARE in the mFund service would allow investors to access the asset class in a manner that suits them.
RARE Infrastructure head of global partnerships, Matt Bushby, said the company was pleased to be able to provide investors and their advisers with another access point to what represented an important asset class.
“It’s also important for these investors to have the choice of a hedged or unhedged version of the fund, enabling them to manage their currency exposures in a way that best suits their needs,” he said.
