Perpetual has completed the reorganisation of its retail distribution function with the appointment of former MLC Wealth executive Matt Thompson to the position of general manager strategic accounts.
In December 2011, Perpetual announced the reorganisation of its investment product distribution function to focus on key clients and decision-makers in the retail funds market.
The new structure included the strategic accounts division, an adviser distribution team headed by Jorden Brown, and the research and operations team to be lead by Kyle Lidbury.
Thompson joined Perpetual from MLC Wealth, where he was head of national accounts and research. He was responsible for MLC sales across platforms, insurance and investment, leading a team of nine.
He had also held senior roles at AMP, Suncorp and Colonial First State.
"Matt’s team has a critical role to play in servicing our target segments, and his proven ability to create strong client relationships will ensure we can get our products in front of the people who hold the keys to a wider distribution footprint," head of retail distribution and Perpetual’s acting group executive, Nick Langton, said.
