Pengana Capital’s Asian Equities Long Short Fund is now open to retail investors, having previously only been a wholesale vehicle.
Fund manager Diane Lin said Pengana believes the Asia Pacific region will produce higher growth opportunities than developed countries in coming years, but noted that such growth brings high volatility.
“Management of market volatility will become even more important going forward to achieve sustainable returns in the region,” she said.
Pengana said the fund has achieved an annualised return of 18.9 per cent net of fees, outperforming the MSCI Asia Index’s negative annualised return of 5.4 per cent.
The fund carries a three-star rating from Standard & Poor’s and requires a minimum investment of $20,000.
